Jose Sixto Rafael Dantes III also know as Dingdong Dantes was born August 2, 1980, in Quezon City, Philippines. His parents are Jiggs and Angeline Dantes. Dingdong Dantes is a one of the most popular actors in the Philipines. He began his career at the tender age of nine as a print and commercial model. At the age of seventeen he was a regular in the very popular TV series T.G.I.S. (Thank God It's Sabado). He played the handsome boy-next-door Iñaki. Dingdong was well received by the public and this series helped to pave the way to his great popularity. Dantes went on to star in other popular shows and movies like Mulawin: The Movie in 2005 and One True Love in 2008. He is currently working on a new film that is expected to be released to the public in 2009 called Dagaw. To add to his list of talents, he directed the TV series Kakabakaba and Atlantika.

Dingdong Dantes is also a real life cousin of fellow actor and co-star in MariMar and Encantadia, Arthur Solinap. He is Co-owner of Circle's Café restaurant in Timog Avenue, Quezon City, Philippines. His previous love interest were Antoinette Taus and Karylle both celebrities in their own rights. Dantes nickname is Dong. He is deathly afraid of rats, loves superheros and collecting toys. The advice he gives to all aspiring actors is to "Love your work".
